More than likely, each company you’re interested in requires a specifically tailored cover letter for each job you want to apply for. This task can take up a good portion of your time, especially if you’re unsure of what to say or how to present it. Highlight your accomplishments. Ensure that you aren’t simply listing the great things you’ve done. For example, say you won an award for research- include in your cover letter how the relevant research helped you professionally. Likewise, it’s never a bad idea to include how you plan on using the knowledge going forward!
Wording matters. Be careful not to use too much fancy jargon, as the cover letter can come off cold or confusing. Make sure you balance your stand out language with simpler jargon so your cover letter feels more relatable. Above all, just be confident in your words.
